Then move along the western boundary of the refuge to Grand Teton National Park to watch for wildlife. Pass antelope flats, the historic town of Kelly, and the mountain ranges that form the valley of Jackson Hole. WINTER WILDLIFE IN THE TETONS

Starting by being picked up in the Hotel Jackson Lobby and fueling up on a light breakfast then head out to National Elk Refuge and Grand Teton National Park in search of the area’s abundant wintering wildlife. Your guide will provide the best opportunity to view mule deer, elk, moose, bighorn sheep, and bison that migrate into the valley in search of food. After a full morning in the field, stop for lunch at a local eatery before heading to the National Museum of Wildlife Art, where there will be the opportunity to stop for a sleigh ride.

*Sleigh rides are options and, depending on your comfort level with close contact to other groups, are not required activity. If you decide not to do the sleigh ride, your guide will plan for more time in the field looking for wildlife. We will confirm this with you before your trip departure.

Please note that in the winter, the option for Yellowstone tours is either via snowmobile or snowcoach. Yellowstone snowcoach tour details are on the same page as snowmobile information.
